Rebranding the Glenwood Choir has begun with a fresh approach to predominantly unaccompanied or ‘a capella’ singing, which obviates an accompanist and empowers the group to be an autonomous body which can rehearse anywhere under the guidance of the Choir leader or his Deputy. With the new approach has come a keen interest in the works of popular groups like Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Beatles and The Beach Boys, arranged by the Choir master.
Having entered choir competitions and Eisteddfods, the Glenwood choir looks forward to expanding their role in the school as a unit to perform at all school functions and in the greater Glenwood community. The Choir rehearses every lunch break and assembly to hone their skills as a body of singers whose greatest love is the celebration of music in song. Wish them every success in their upcoming concerts as they make their way toward developing into a professional unit which will make Glenwood and its founding fathers proud.
