The Glenwood History book is a 260 pager coffee table book that celebrates one hundred years of Glenwood’s history. This is the story of a school with humble beginnings that has grown to become one of the leading schools in KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa. This is the fourth published history of Glenwood, the previous three having been written to coincide with the School’s fortieth anniversary in 1950, the sixtieth anniversary in 1970 and the ninetieth in 2000.
To record all the achievements and stories of the past one hundred years, in the space of just over 260 pages, is an impossible task. Indeed for every story in this book, there are many more that will unfortunately remain unrecorded. Nevertheless there are over 600 photographs, 150 information boxes and 22 pages of lists included in this book. For the first time there are detailed, accurate and complete Rolls of Honour for the School’s war dead, in addition to the normal lists of captains and provincial representatives.
Glenwood is a unique school, noted for its special spirit and camaraderie. It is hoped that this book will give the reader an enjoyable and informative read as well as being a source of reference.
The Glenwood History Book 2010 will be available from the School from 01 December 2011 at R500 per copy. For more information or to order your copy contact Mrs Hannelie Erasmus on 031-2744448 or email@example.com
