Well done to Old Boy and Staff member, Mr B Shabangu, on his recent selection as Captain of the SA Emerging 7's Rugby Team:

Mr Dames and Mr Hardman played in the Varsity College Golf Day in aid of the CHOC Foundation and won the event. This is an excellent achievement in aid of a good couse; I just wonder when they find time to train!

Well done!

Last Friday was a School Holiday and the Glenwood Staff decided to make the best use of the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of some young children. 

The Old Boys' Association and wire Badge are now available for purchase at the School Shop for R750.

They are of an excellent quality and specially tailored for the OBA.

Mr Dames and Mr Erasmus (the 1st XV Coaches, Staff Members and OBA Members) were the first to wear them on Friday night.

The School Governing Body has commissioned Old Boy Mr C Brown to paint the portraits of Headmasters whom served the School for 10 years or more. The process has started and the project will add further value to the Media Centre. Mr MJP Maher is the next previous Headmaster to be approached in 2011.

The school's centenary year has proven to be a memorable year. While there have been a number of exciting sporting achievements (which have been highlighted here by other staff) there have also been a number of amazing cultural aspects to the year.

Two of our long-serving staff retire at the end of this year.

Mrs Wendy Rottcher has been at Glenwood for 19 years and has to decided to retire and pursue her passion for painting, and her garden. The boys will certainly miss her wonderful English lessons.

Mr Hector McDuling sent us this interesting photograph of Staff memebrs of different eras at Mr David Grant's wake last week.

It is with sadness that we heard yesterday that Mr DK Grant passed away at home while on sick leave.

Mr Grant is an Old Boy and current Staff member.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Mr De Villiers left Glenwood this term to return to industry. Mr Van Reenen gets married next weekend; we wish him well. The Headmaster congratulates the top boy in each Form for Term III 2010.

Mr K. Mdlalose retired at the end of the 1st Term of 2010. His commitment, loyalty, friendship and humility were a personal inspiration to me. Please find a report below:
