The Admissions Process
Please feel free to explore our School prospectus and Gibson House prospectus. If you wish to join the Glenwood Family, the first step is to complete and submit an Online Enquiry form. An Application Form and procedural requirements will be forwarded once the inquiry has been received and assessed. Please indicate if your requirement is for a day scholar or for boarding and the grade your son will be entering.
On receipt, your application will be processed and presented to the Board. You will be advised of the outcome. The School does not require an assessment exam to be sat.
In processing the application the submitted information is matched against our Admissions Policy. The most recent school report is required with the application and Glenwood High School may ask the Principal of the boy’s current school to complete a Principal’s Confidential Report which is a detailed assessment of the boy’s scholastic ability, involvement in the school and character. This is kept strictly confidential between the two schools. Academic ability, character and extramural ability determine whether a boy will receive an offer of admission.
Pupils applying for places in Grades 9 to 12 are assessed on the basis of their school reports and the interview. The Principal’s Confidential Report may be required.
Once your application is successful you will be invited to an interview and a personal tour of the School and Boarding Establishment (if required).
The Admissions secretary is Mrs Terri Fritchley, telephone on 031 2744403 or terrif@glenwoodhighschool.co.za
Please note that the closing date for applications each year is the 31st of March.
