It was a fun and exciting start for all the new 2ND Form Glenwood boys this week as they packed tents and sleeping bags and headed towards the old military base in the bluff for their induction course. The boys were kept well occupied with heaps of activities which included Beach Olympics, Shooting, Canoeing, raft Building and even a lesson on the latest SANDF weaponry. More importantly however was that each boy learned the famous Glenwood war cries and also got to learn how important they are to one another during their schooling career. The camp was ended off with all Form II boys singing a war cry to parents before officially becoming Glenwood boys by ringing the Memorial Bell and being welcomed into the School by the Head Prefect and the Headmaster.
Special thanks must go the Mr Jordan and his large team for the hard work that went into organising the camp. Thank you also to the NMR and to the SANDF. The SA Airforce also showed off some excellent flying while in the area. Well done to the From II boys for their tenacity in the face of deliberate challenges.
This looks like another good group for Glenwood.
We hope that each boy enjoys the next 5 years with the school.
