Capping off a truly inspirational year in the partnership between Glenwood and Mswelili School from Umlazi, a year-end bash was held in the MT Pavilion on Thursday 8 November.

Mr Phillip Kershaw (Photonote Toshiba), Mswelili Headmaster Mr Mkhwanazi, teacher Mrs Mthembu and Glenwood Headmaster Mr Trevor Kershaw with the kids.
Pioneered by Mrs Barnes, The Glenwood Academy of Mathematics, Engineering and Sciences was established to give back to the community by way of extra lessons to learners and a transfer of skills to teachers.

Mrs Potgieter and 2008 Head Boy Piero Ioppo, who was one of the Grade 11's involved in the lessons, with the Mswelili contingent.
Mrs Potgieter gave of her time throughout this year to provide the Grade 4's of Mswelili with invaluable science lessons here at Glenwood and the learners duly reciprocated with an entertaining show in gratitude of what they had learnt. The pupils were then given a bag full of stationary donated by First National Bank as well as a bag of goodies.

The learners receive their goodie bags and FNB stationary packs.
The great news to come out of the afternoon is that the programme will be extended next year, with the addition of maths lessons kindly run by Mr Chinniah.

Special thanks goes out to Mr Phillip Kershaw from Photonote Toshiba who provided the necessary funds for their taxis from Umlazi to Glenwood every week. A debt of gratitude is also extended to FNB, who earlier this year, made a sizeable contribution to the GAMES initiative.
