22 January: Mr Kershaw welcomed all newcomers to Glenwood (pupils and teachers). Pupils were reminded about manners, behaviour and discipline. Cell phones and other valuables are to be handed in at the front office in the mornings and should be collected after school.

31 January: Mr Kershaw has had several complaints regarding the drop-off zone for boys before and after school. Parents are urged to use the Frere Crescent drop-off point and NOT to drop pupils off between the islands or in front of the school in Nicolson Road. Your co-operation would be appreciated. Mr Kershaw spoke to pupils about behaviour on busses - make Glenwood proud! Prizegiving - Junior Prizegiving will take place on 28 February 2003 at 10.00am. Wade du Plessis will be the Guest Speaker. Midmar Mile - Mr Kershaw wished all pupils taking part in this event the best of luck. Hockey - Glenwood vs Gongs - Glenwood 3, Gongs 1. Glenwood vs Natal University - Glenwood 9, UND 2. Softball - Congratulations to the boys who have been selected for the USSASA AAll Stars@ Teams. Well done boys. Cricket - Glenwood U13A vs Penzance - Glenwod won by 10 wickets.

17 February : Mr Kershaw spoke again about not having cell phones at school. If they are brought in, they must be left at the Front Office until after school. Waterpolo - Glenwood vs Kloof - Glenwood won 5 and lost 2.

14 February : Debating - vs Durban Girls= College - Glenwood won all four debates. Well done to Christopher Wood, Samiran Pillay and Jithan Pillay. Basketball - Glenwood vs Pinetown , won 2, lost 2. Waterpolo - Congratulations to Darren Stone and Dale Johnson for being selected for the Natal U16 Team. Swimming - At a recent Gala held at Kearsney, Glenwood were placed third with 160 points. Well done boys.

24 February : Swimming - The following boys have been selected for the KwaZulu-Natal Swimming Team : Rowan Chetty, Jason Perry, Ashley Viljoen & Steven Winterbach. Baseball - Brendon Botha has been selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal in the 2003 Inter-Provincial Baseball Tournament. Congratulations Brendon. Cricket - U13 Cricket Festival - Glenwood A & B teams were placed 1st and 2nd respectively (out of 12 teams) Well done to all involved.

3 March : Debating - Glenwood participated in the Durban Coastal Debating League recently and won all their events. Well done to all concerned. 7 March - Waterpolo - Darren Stone was chosen as one of the top 15 players in a recent tournament and was named as part of the SA Schools U16 Team. Forum Discussion - Grade 10 took part in an inter-school panel-type discussion and were the eventual winners. Well done to Duanne Deponselle, Byron Louw, Nirkash Bhim and Jared Wilkinson.

10 March : Chess - In a recent tournament held at Gelofte, Robert Vella was placed first. Well done.Aquatics - Vicram Purshotam has been selected for the KwaZulu-Natal Team. He will be participating in the Africa Challenge shortly and we wish you the best of luck. Waterpolo - Glenwood vs Northwood - won 3, lost 2.

On behalf of the School and Governing Body and pupils I wish all members of the Glenwood community a good break and look forward to your continued support during the remainder of the year.
