Special Assembly - Women's Day
10 August 2005
The following speech was given at Friday's school assembly by Professor Moletsane:
"Good morning Gentlemen! I am honoured to be here this morning and bring greetings from my four year old nephew who believes that the Green Machine is real! So, greetings and the best of luck this year to the Green Machine.
I would like to begin by saluting all the great women here and beyond. More importantly, today I particularly want to salute women teachers, for we all know how much harder we have to work at the normal day-to-day things in our lives and profession. But I also want to thank men teachers for their support, for without it, it would not be possible to succeed.
Today I speak to you a day after one, Donovan Moodley was sentenced to a life sentence for abducting and then killing a young woman Leigh Matthews from a university in Johannesburg. This case has huge meaning for us in South Africa during this year
