Debating Finals 2008

Yesterday, the Glenwood Senior and Junior Debating teams took part in the Durban Coastal Debating League Semi-Finals and Finals. This involved a very long afternoon that started at 15:15 and ended after 20:30.

In the Semi-Finals The Glenwood Junior team managed to defeat the St Henry's Marist Brothers team and Glenwood Senior team managed to defeat a very strong Durban Girls? College team. This meant that both the Senior and Junior team made it through to the finals.

In the finals, the Juniors faced up against Danville Girls?. They were defeated, making them the second highest ranked Junior team in the league.

The seniors faced Northwood High and managed a convincing win with Javan Moodley obtaining best speaker for that debate.

In the prize giving it was announced that Mark Schoeman was the best speaker for 2008.

The seniors now go to the interleague Final where they will be pitted against the winners of the other leagues in KZN.
