Debating Results

On Tuesday the 19th of August, the finals of the Durban Coastal Debating League were held at D.H.S.

Our Junior team, consisting of Matthew Butler-Adam, Owen Khumalo and Wesley Du Toit were up against a very strong D.H.S. team. Christopher Wood, who is normally a part of this team was on History tour and so was replaced by a very competent, Wesley Du Toit and this very young team certainly held their own against the grade 10 D.H.S. debaters. The Juniors won their debate and Matthew was awarded best speaker.

Our Senior A team was up against our Senior B team in the finals and engaged in a most interesting and entertaining debated. Our Senior B team won the debate and David Ellis and Matthew White were awarded joint best speaker.

Provincial Competition Results

The Lovelife Games Provincial Debating Competition was held from the 15th to the 17th of August in Eshowe. Our Glenwood team, consisted of: Brandon Almeida, Samiran Pillay, David Ellis, Christopher Wood and Matthew Butler-Adam. They debated most admirably and managed to reach the semi-finals where they faced Westville Girls
