Old boy and successful businessman Bryan Maehler from Watches Unlimited has recently become the official sponsor of the Glenwood High School 1st Team Rugby Sevens Team. Watches Unlimited sponsored the team with jerseys and warm up t-shirts. The sponsor also included new state of the art heart rate monitors and data recorders. These training watches will be utilised in the Sports Academies and will add a new dimension to the conditioning programmes we have in place. The watches and data recorders allow the coach to monitor levels of fitness and intensities during training. It will also allow the coach to monitor and control any over or under training by the sportsmen, ensuring the athlete peaks at the correct time of the season. The data recorder also comes with software to set up logs for workouts and generates graphs and summaries.

We are very grateful to Bryan Maehler and his daughter Amy for their kind donation and support of Glenwood High School. We look forward to institute the new training watches into our conditioning programme that starts in September.
