Old Boy sends in an interesting story!

Glenwood Old Boy, Guy Leitch (1981), sent us this interesting mail the other day. We have the photo of the School in the museum but the post card must have an interesting story attached to it. Please see the mail below:

Hi again,

I have attached 2 images to this e-mail. The front side and the reverse side of an old picture/postcard taken from the air of what today is Glenwood High School.

It has the words "aerial view of Durban Technical High School" on the front and on the reverse the original owner of the postcard has hand written "this was my school in Durban" and then signed it with the initials "T.D."

I was fortunate and astonished to stumble across this picture at an auction here in the United States. The seller stated that the picture was from circa 1912.

I purchased it and the next time I return to South Africa I will donate the original to the school so that it can added to the archives.
I also hope you are able to copy the images up to the website, I'm sure many would be delighted as I was to see an early image of Glenwood.
