SA Hockey selections.

Please see below a report on the SA Hockey selections after the recent interprovincial:

Congratulations to Sumanth Sunkari (12PR) and Ross Hetem(11B) who have been selected for the various SA Schools Hockey Teams announced last week at the inaugural National U18 Inter Provincial Tournament held in Pietermaritzburg from the 21 - 25 June 2010.

The two Glenwood boys represented the KZN Coastals U18 side who eventually went on to win the tournament beating Southern Gauteng 3-0 in the final last Friday afternoon.

After the final, two SA Squads were announced, namely a SA U17 squad and a SA U18 squad.

Ross Hetem and Sumanth Sunkari (both aged 17) went on to make the 30-man SA U17 Squad with Sumanth Sunkari also being included in the 18-man SA U18 squad.

These squads are the building blocks for the preparation of a SA U21 side that will stand a chance of taking part in the 2013 Men's Junior Hockey World Cup.

An excllent achievement! Well done to all concerend.
