The Glenwood Team and Coach returned on Sunday from the tour to iFafa, where we finished fourth in the KwaZulu-Natal Schools Surfing League. A bit disappointing, as last year we finished second, but the league has been far tougher this year than ever, with new teams joining and a general improvement in the existing teams' performances.
We have a young team (oldest member is Josh Smit - Grade 10) and inexperience definitely played a role in the form of some costly tactical errors, but the boys definitely gave their best and had a blast.
Crawford North Coast ended up winning, beating DHS by one point, with St Henry's third and Northwood fifth.
The final consisted of the top five teams from a league of about 11 schools represented by about 19 teams.
