Named after Norman A Kennedy. Very little is known about Norman Kennedy’s earlier life, other than he was born in Australia. He was a talented athlete, winning several events at the School Championships in 1912. This included the U15 High Jump, U15 440 yards and the Open 100 yards.
Norman Kennedy served with the 4th South African Horse in German East Africa. He entered the school soon after the war had started. Norman A Kennedy died on 15 July 1916 and is buried in the Dar Es Salaam War Cemetery. He was just 18 years old.
