Glenwood 1st XV vs. Michaelhouse
The 1st XV game took place at Michaelhouse this week, under grey clouds and on wet fields. Nonetheless, some fantastic tries were scored by the Glenwood team. Fred Zeilinga got the game off to a good start with converting a penalty. Michaelhouse quickly equalized with a penalty of their own. Sean Ardendorf broke away and managed to off-load to Matthew Torrance, who crashed over the line for the first try of the game, which was converted by Fred Zeilinga. Reece Jeffreys then went on to score a great try, running the ball in over the try line quite easily. Dean Moolman then went crashing over the line, to score Glenwood’s third try. Michaelhouse fought back, and scored a try of their own, on the half-time whistle. Half time score: 24-8.
The second half was much more tightly contested, with both teams putting up excellent defences. The only points scored in the second half, was a penalty conversion by Fred Zeilinga. The final score of the match being 27-8. Well done to the Glenwood boys for an excellent display of High School rugby and well done to Michaelhouse for showing such spirit under pressure.
A special thanks must, once again go to the supporters who gave the players such a boost when needed.
Glenwood 1st XI vs. Michaelhouse
Having competed in the D+D night league final last night, and being placed a respectable second in the league, the first team were ready for a good match against Michaelhouse, up at Michaelhouse. The first team got off to a great start, scoring an early game. They led the match for a while, but unfortunately some errors got the better of the boys. The final score neing 2-3, with Glenwood unfortunately losing the match.
Cross Country
Glenwood ran at Crawford La Lucia last week Wednesday. The U17 A team were placed first. We have a strong U17 age group, and the boys have done well thus far.
Special thanks must go to Mr B Sibson, whom now helps with the reporting, results and transmission of all activities within the school. His efforts certainly assist me as the web master (and Head
