Toastmasters' Semi-Finals - 2009.
TOASTMASTERS: 2009
Three of our Form V boys took part in the Toastmasters’ semi-finals at Northwood on |Saturday 24 October 2009.
Vishendra Naidoo was placed 2nd in the Prepared Speeches. His speech, entitled ‘Death the Leveller’, was unexpectedly humorous with strong intellectual context. He was also placed 1st in the Evaluation category and was the only competitor to go through to two categories in the finals.
Andrew L’Homme gave a witty and very well received impromptu speech but did not get through to the finals and while Jason Strydom did not compete, he was asked to do the test speech for the evaluation and was complimented and thanked by the judges.
We are very proud of them and will be there to support V. Naidoo at the Finals which will take place on 21 November 2009.
